Who is the Sassy & Savvy VA?

IMG_3261Welcome Coaches! I'm Jay Black and I am the Sassy & Savvy VA! I have always loved supporting others and helping them achieve a measure of success in their businesses by bringing out the best in them. However, I never thought that my 15 years of creatively supporting others in Corporate America, would bring me here. It has been a long arduous journey but one that has been fulfilling, gratifying and life changing.

Two years prior to the end of my corporate career, I determined that it was time for me to fully focus on me, my family and my health. I knew that I wanted to nurture my entrepreneurial spirit and start my own business. But what business would I start? What would cater to my needs of supporting others and helping to make a difference in another person’s life? I really struggled with finding the right business that agreed with my abilities and talents. One day I was doing some research online about home-based businesses, and I came across an article on Entrepreneur.com. It spoke about becoming a virtual assistant. What is that? How can I become one? After a year of researching what a VA is, speaking to various VAs, praying, saving and designing an exit strategy, I finally stepped out on faith and left my position with a prestigious banking company.

So, in November 2007, I started Charlotte Enterprise. In January 2008, I came in contact with another virtual assistant who supported coaches. She constantly spoke very highly of the profession, the coaching clients she had and the principles on which the profession stand upon. Once I started working with coaches, I fell in love. I knew that these were my people and that I wanted to do anything I could to support the difference they were making in the lives of others.

In 2011, I decided to add another layer or element to my VA business. I wanted to increase my support to the coaching community. Since I am more of a creative and visual person, I wanted to add blogs, webinars, videos, programs and the like to my business. I wanted my expansion to allow me the opportunity to interact with the coaching community on a different level. With that in mind I launched Sassy & Savvy VA.

After years of working with coaches, I noticed that many of my coaches were having the same issues. They were struggling with their online activity and marketing. I was constantly helping them with their social media presence, websites, blogs, etc. I barely had time for my own business. I knew that I had to make a drastic decision. I had to focus on their biggest need…marketing. So, in December 2014, I decided that Sassy & Savvy VA would solely focus on helping coaches strengthen their relationship with their audience, increase their client load and revenue by building their Know-Like-Trust (KLT) Factor through online marketing.
